Izure Shinwa Vol 3 Chpt 2 pt 8

I want to talk.

That’s what Osiris said so.

“Do you really want to talk here?”

“Yeah, I don’t mind.”

Osiris casually nodded.

While lying down on the sauna floor.

For the time being, I knew that she was looking down on me.

I sat next to Osiris.

『Are you going to listen to her?』

(More or less. Besides I don’t want her to think I’m running away)

After all she can’t be killed with the Evil Eye.

The punch line is that when she is about to petrified, she will just activate her usual automatic suicide ability to escape.

She is just going to die and still be resurrected.

And that is Osiris’ 「Regalia」.

“Why are you here today?………Is it a coincidence?”

“It is an inevitable coincidence. For I had business with you. Therefore you have been drawn to me. That’s all there is.”

Osiris spattered drivel with a straight face.

It is ill-minded because she was serious.

“Then what are you doing here, or rather what have you been doing so far?”

She have pretending to be reserve for the past two days.

Although Leon’s intuition didn’t work, his ability aren’t omnipotent either.

Was Osiris hiding and planning something again?

Perhaps her 「Regalia」 takes more than two days to revive her?

I was thinking that it was either one of them.

“I was enjoying a little vacance* on my own, what’s wrong with that?”

Her answer went beyond my expectations. In a bad way.

Osiris smiled while enjoying the sauna.

“It’s about time we end this absurd bawling party. But before that, I thought I would enjoy the entertainment created by humans.”

Osiris announced that the end of the war as if it is a fact, without exaggeration.

While implying that the only one can end it was her.

Where does she get that absolute self-confidence?

No, maybe this is the god named Osiris.

……Oh well.

It doesn’t matter that she is a egoistic and self-conceited person.

“Since you already established your triumph, what on Earth do you want to talk about?”

“I’ll get to the point, bearer of the Evil Eye.”

Osiris looked at me while in a sprawled position

“Be my servant.”

What is that?

That was astounding.

“Are you kidding?”

“Is that what you think?”

Osiris raised the corner of her lips.

Her expression looks as if she is toying with a bewildered small animal.

“It’s understandable to be afraid.”

Osiris reposition her legs.

“It may look so but I think highly of you as well you know?”

“What are you talking about?”

“That night—–“

She probably referring to that night the battle take took place at that amusement park.

“———-Despite being saved by numerous coincidence, you have once fend off with your wisdom and wits against me. Be that as it may, I have to give you credit for that no matter how foolish of a human you are.

I clicked my tongue.

No matter what she said it all sounds ironic to me.

In the end, I wasn’t able to defeat her.

Although she calls it a compliment, but it looks like she is making a mockery of me.

As if a teacher is praising an immature student.

But that’s not the part that I worry about.

The more concerning question I have is,

“What’s the reason behind wanting me to be your follower?”

“You said that the Mythical Proxy War is a joke. Don’t tell you need me in order to conquer this war.”

“Naturally. There is no way I can offer my words to the masses because of this.”

“Then why? What do you need me for?”

“I need you……….? Haha, don’t get carried away.”

Osiris laughed loudly in glee.

This god is getting on my nerves every single time.

“I’m a king. But a king can’t fight alone. It’s necessary to have soldiers under my control, nonetheless to have more competent ones the better. So that I won’t be troubled no matter how many talented soldiers there are.”

Osiris changed her posture while talking.

“That’s why what I need is 『soldiers』, not 『you』. Do you understand? I didn’t called you because you are special, but because you will be useful as a soldier.”

Although it sounded like a worthless word play, listening to every details also seems idiotic.

“I haven’t heard your reply though.”

Osiris snorted towards my attitude.

“Do you what happens after the Mythical Proxy War?”

After the Mythical Proxy War is over?

In other words, some mythology will earn the right to be nominated to an『Individual God』.

When that happens………

This time, a new war will break out among the mythology over the seat of the『Individual God』 .

Osiris’ answer was somewhat unexpected.

(A new battle over the『Individual God』 ‘ s seat?)

『Well it’s not an impossible story.』

Balor interjected.

『——In Celtic Mythology Lugh* did assemble his followers, but not everyone supported him. Like me for example. 』

(That’s true)

『—–If there are two or more pillars from the same mythology who wishes to be the  『Individual God』, it’s inevitable that a fight will occur. 』

Not all gods that came from the same mythology are restricted to a monolith.

In Norse mythology, the Vanir and Æsir gods were in opposition for a long time. In order to reconcile, Frejya and Freyr were held hostage.

In Japanese mythology, it’s said that the Amatsukami* and the Kunitsukami* fought over the transfer of country.

Not to mention Celtic Mythology.

Especially Egyptian Mythology.

Where in ancient times, the guardian deity worshipped in each city were different.

The theory of creating the mythology universe differs depending on the region.

Even Pharaohs worshipped a different Supreme Deity over time.

Therefore, there are many King Gods in existence that can be called Supreme Deities in Egyptian Mythology.

Osiris who is in front of me is also one of them——

“The are two prominent fractions in Egyptian Mythology. My fraction is with opposition with Amun-Ra. He is also one of nine pillar gods of Heliopolis*.”

“The Sun God Ra, huh.”

The God of Sun, Amun-Ra.

The heavenly God Ra can rival with Osiris, the God of the underworld.

Mainly in the Egypt royal family where he is worshipped.

That name literally mean the ‘sun’.

He traced the trajectory of the sun while it changes it’s appearance during the day.

And when the sun sets, he got on the boat and crossed over to the underworld.

It’s been said that he would reappear above ground together with Sunrise.

Although he is also called as a god who gave birth to human, the era when Ra ruled the Earth is called the 「The beginning of time」, in other words the world is at it’s golden age.

However even Ra, who was a good ruler also had a cruel side. When he got angry to those old people who didn’t respect him, Ra dispatched Sekhmet, the God of Pestilence to turn the Earth into a sea of blood.

Also known as the father of the gods, he is also said to be a powerful deity fitting his name.

“That’s true, Ra would be a god that could stand on equal footing with Osiris.”

In terms of their status as gods, both of them probably have extremely competitive powers.

To the extend that this haughty Osiris recognized as an 「enemy」.

Does that means that I was scouted in order to fight with Ra?

It doesn’t seem like a lie, but there is an intriguing aspect.

“My Evil Eye is just a borrowed item for the period of the Mythical Proxy War. I can’t carry it forward to the battle with Ra. Or are you trying to solicit the Balor that is in me?”

“Hmm, I don’t go out of my way for the likes of some Evil Eyes’ useless ability.”

『—–What’d you say, you damn brat?!』

Balor snapped as Osiris wickedly laughed at the Evil Eye.

It was irritating but it is better to let him scream for now.

“What I want is your wisdom.”

Osiris looked into my eyes and showed a smile.

“Ability is no more that an instrument. What I need is someone to use it. I can lent you as many tools as you want. All you have to do is to use it and fight.”

Osiris reached out her hand to invite me.

As if to say take my hand.

“Join me and use that brain for my sake. As soon as you accomplish an admirable task, I’ll invite your soul to the fields of Aaru*.”

According to the Bible, the fields of Aaru is called a paradise.

The judge of the underworld Osiris is also the ruler and the warden of the fields of Aaru.

If I yield, I will be taken to Eden, huh.

“Save your sleep-talking for when you sleep.”

Osiris became silent in response to my answer.

“No matter what happens, I absolutely refuse to be a puppet to the gods.”

“……..I don’t know what misunderstandings you have but this is a show of my compassion.”

“In order to purify your sinful soul, you have no choice but to pledge your loyalty to me. Otherwise your soul will be heading towards Ammit’s* stomach.”

“What a drag.”

Mercy? Purification?

This god is saying some ridiculous stuff.

I have never thought to be forgiven by you guys.

Osiris sensing that I won’t yield, sighed annoying.

“Not only you flat out refuse my amnesty, but you did the unimaginable and showed your defiance? How foolish, you are pilling up your sins.”

“If showing hostility towards you is a sin, I don’t mind getting roasted in the flames of hell.”

Osiris sighed once again.

That is not a sigh of astonishment, but a fruitless one.

“Man oh man, what a waste of time.”

Osiris stood up slowly.

“You just lost your last chance, bearer of the Evil Eye. Now it’s too late for regrets.”

“Don’t make me laugh.”

Osiris scoffed.

“I have fully enjoyed my pastime. Playtime is over. I will personally judge the sins of all living things on this island――with my Jugdement of Death.”

I instantly stretched out my hand.

However, before my hands could reach, Osiris disappeared.

Perhaps Medjed was standing near her.

“If you try and do anything stupid everyone here will be devoured by Ammit, you know?”

Osiris whispered from an empty space and I couldn’t moved.

Eventually, the door of the sauna opened and closed with a snap, even though there wasn’t anyone there.

That was how Osiris calmly left before me.

“……..Damn it.”

In the end, I didn’t get any helpful information.

All I gotten was some ominous words that was left behind in mystery.

The name of the large-scale magic that seems to engulf the entire island.

Judgement of the Death.
